Stay delusional and feel empowered

Delusional – originates from a latin word that means deceiving. If you are believing in something that might not be true or realistic, you are a delusional person. Most of the times, we keep on assuming things based on the people’s judgements. We limit ourselves and start to create a boundary around our capabilities and beliefs.

Delusional Thinking

We always feel comfortable living through our easy lifestyle and intended beliefs. Now let me walk you through one of the story of my life. I had studied in a state board government school and always dreamt of studying in IIIT, IIT or NIT for engineering. I brought up in such a locality, environment where dreaming of such things were considered as building a castle in the sky. I was delusional enough to think beyond what my surroundings wanted to make me think of.

I came across the term WBJEE from my school teacher, when I was in 11th standard. There was a coaching institute – Aakash Institute – by name, located in my nearby city. I went to that institute accompanied by my father in the quest of some test series for WBJEE. I saw some amazing posters mentioning IIT, IIIT, NIT, NEET over there. That was the first time when I felt curious and thought of dreaming of it. I asked that admission counsellor about this IIT related test series, the manager said to my father – “Your son won’t be able to clear such coveted competitive exams, even students from CBSE, ISCSE boards are struggling. Your son is from state board, so there is no chance of getting into it. You are wasting our time. I can give you a suggestion, you can let him continue with his studies and later he can try for Bachelor of Science courses.” My father believed that, but I didn’t. My father suggested me to prepare for diploma engineering entrance exams.

I prepared myself and appeared in the IIT JEE exams, but could not get into either of IIT, IIIT or NIT colleges. I got admission into diploma engineering in a government polytechnic college that year. I took Civil Engineering branch as per my father’s suggestions. I went to college for a few days, but I had delusional beliefs and felt indifferent to continue with the same. I dropped out of that college just after a few weeks and started preparing for that IIT JEE exams. Everyone around me had a feeling that I was wasting my time. My parents suggested me not to drop off, instead prepare along with my diploma engineering studies. They believed in facts and reasons, but I believed in my delusional thoughts. One year down the line, I got selected in IIIT Bhubaneswar and I chose Electronics and Telecommunication engineering branch. Everyone in my family was astonished, I too was like flying on the seventh heaven.

The scriptures also tells us to empower our belief system with delusional thoughts. The most pivotal conflicting fight between Kauravas and Pandavas was also not an exception to this. The five pandavas of Mahabharata were thinking to register the victory over the giant fighters of Kauravas. That thought had been a delusional only. At last the mere delusional thought won over the realistic assumptions.

It is being considered that our subconscious mind starts functioning based our beliefs. So, if you feed your subconscious mind with the delusional thoughts, there is a fair chance that you would realize that at some time. The biggest wonders that we see around us, are the result of someone’s delusional thoughts and efforts. Otherwise it would have been completely unrealistic only to break the huge mountain in order to carve a road through it, with just one hammer, what Dashrath Manjhi, the mountain man, made us to believe in.

you can feel empowered with what you feed your brain with. If you start finding possibilities through impossible paths, you can confirm that your thoughts have become delusional. You can do such great things if you just leave that illusions apart and start counting on the delusional beliefs.

Feel delusional in your thoughts and beliefs, you would become a better version of yourself.
